So Close No Matter How Far
© Elox
On a cold and cloudy afternoon, I took a break from work and decided to go for a walk by Lake Geneva, also known as Lac Leman. I saw this man in deep thought, standing almost without the slightest movement for long minutes. This gave me time to adjust my camera and carefully frame the subject with some emphasis on the floor, which I find, adds an interesting element to the photo.
The most important thing in this photo was my attempt to use the weak sunlight and try to adjust the angle so that the head of the person is situated just under the light.
The title “so close no mater how far” is inspired by the Metalica song. In this context, the lake and the open space symbolizes the distance between the person and what is on his mind. Determination is what comes to mind when I see this image. So close no matter how far.
