Submissions
Grey Sparrow Press is a publisher of visual art, photography and literature in print and zine. We accept submissions year-round.
General Information
A brief letter of introduction, including name, e-mail address, postal address, word count, and a biographical sketch about the author and/or artist must accompany all submissions.
Please wait a minimum of three months before submitting new work after each rejected submission and one year after publication with Grey Sparrow. We do not accept previously published work except by special arrangement and request by Grey Sparrow Press. Simultaneous submissions are accepted and must be noted in the writers' submissions. If submissions are placed elsewhere before the Sparrow secures the right for publication, inform the Sparrow immediately. Upon submission, you warrant you are submitting your original work. All submissions are subject to edit and writers are required to work with an editor if their work is chosen for publication. New venues for re-publication will not be sought for a minimum of six months from publication date at the Sparrow. No pornographic-themed work, science fiction or horror, thanks.
* We do not pay our contributors. There is no reading fee. At the end of each year we nominate six contributors drawn from the print and online Journal publication for six Pushcart awards. An artist and/or photographer will also be recognized in some other capacity. There are additional secondary submissions for various recognition--the Sparrow also submits visual art.
All submissions: writing, photographs, and art should be sent by email as an attachment and should come in rtf, txt, doc, or wpd, and jpeg format. The Grey Sparrow focuses on literary fiction, fine art, and photography.

Copyright Notice for Contributors
Once we have accepted your work for publication, we hold First North American Serial Rights for publication until we print it, post it, hold it for the next issue, or return it to the contributor. In any case, status will be communicated via e-mail promptly.
Copyright always remains with the authors and artists. Contributors are free to resell their work six months after publication online or twelve months after print (noting Grey Sparrow Press as first publisher), unless granted an earlier release by Grey Sparrow Journal (electronic publication) or Grey Sparrow Press (print publication).
The online journal is staffed by an all-volunteer crew with academic credentials and writing credits.
Electronic submissions only, query first.
Unsolicited graphics, photos, and image files should be sent as links in your email to the artist's own site unless other arrangements have been made. No pornography please. International writers are welcome. Writing must be in English. Translations from another language to English are also welcome.
Archives
A database is now available for previous issues of Grey Sparrow. It is always in flux with each new issue. Don't hesitate to contact us if a link is broken or you can't locate your published work. Given the new archive design, those issues have all but disappeared. Thanks for your patience.
