 Submissions

Grey Sparrow Press is a publisher of art and literature in print and zine.  We accept submissions year-round.

General Information

A brief letter of introduction, including name, e-mail address, postal address, word count, and a biographical sketch about the author and/or artist must accompany all submissions.

Please wait a minimum of three months before submitting new work after each submission, unless an editor has granted permission earlier than three months.  We do not accept previously published work except by special arrangement and request by Grey Sparrow Press. Simultaneous submissions are accepted and must be noted in the submission.  If  submissions are placed elsewhere before the Sparrow secures the right for publication,  inform the Sparrow immediately.   Upon submission, you warrant you are submitting your original work.  All submissions are subject to edit and writers are required to work with an editor if their work is chosen for publication.   New venues for publication will not be sought for a minimum of six months from publication at the Sparrow.  No pornographic-themed work or horror, thanks.

* We do not pay our contributors.   There is no reading fee.  At the end of each year we nominate six contributors drawn from a print publication and the Journal for six Pushcart awards.   An artist and/or photographer will also be recognized in some other capacity.  There are additional secondary submissions for various recognition--the Sparrow also submits visual art.

All submissions: writing, photographs, and art should be sent by email as an attachment and should come in rtf, txt, doc, or wpd, and jpeg format.   The Grey Sparrow focuses on  literary fiction.
