The Twig

Fall strips the tall tree

but lets a lonely twig hold

little yellow leaves.

The Spreading Chestnut Tree

A rain of spikey

ocher burs — Jon dons helmet

and tough leather shoes?

Buffers

Our London plane trees

lining both sides of the street

knuckle winter winds.

Evening in San Francisco

Half a slice of moon—

near the bus stop, flowers turn

a burnt sienna

Waiting for the Taxidermist

Taxidermist rests —

hands crossed: the spotted bird

awaits, unruffled.
